Homemade Granola

Crispy and tender homemade granola!

Ingredients
5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
1/2 cup hazelnuts coarsely chopped
4 tablespoon chia seeds

2/3 cup maple syrup

Optional
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips chopped

Directions
Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

In a large bowl combine the oats, nuts and seeds.

Then, stir in the maple syrup. Mix well all the ingredients until combined.

Pour onto a baking sheet pan. Cook for around 20 minutes. Mix every 5 minutes to achieve an even color.

Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack to room temperature for about 1 hour.

When the granola is cold, you can add the chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.

Serve with plain or greek yogurt!

The granola can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
